From dust jacket: Starting in 1950, shortly after they met, and up through the 1990s, Ronald Reagan wrote letters to his wife, Nancy. In this beautiful book, those extraordinary letters are woven into a moving portrait of a long and loving marriage, as Nancy Reagan shares not only the letters but also her reflections on them, and on the life that she and Ronald Reagan shared, from courtship, young marriage, and the White House years on through to her life today. Included letter: My Darling / This is really just an in-between day. It is a day on which I love you three hundred and sixty-five more days more than I did a year ago and three hundred and sixty-five days less than I will a year from now. / But I wonder how I lived at all for all the three hundred and sixty-fives before I met you. / All my love, / Your Husband. Hardcover. First Edition / First Printing. First Edition / First Printing. Hardcover. This copy is inscribed by Nancy Reagan on the title page to Capt. Joan ("Joanie") M. Huber, who served as Senior White House nurse for both the Reagan and Bush administrations. Additionally, there is a post-it inside on personalized Nancy Reagan post-it note paper bearing the White House Seal, on which is written: "Dr. Narva / Mrs. Reagan wanted to be personal in her inscription to Capt. Huber -- thus "Joanie". This was presumably written by a secretary or aid to Mrs. Reagan. It is unclear who "Dr. Narva" is but regardless, a very nice association copy. As Senior White House nurse, Joan, along with the White House Medical Unit, would have delivered 24/7 care to the President, Vice President, and their families, and accompanied them on global travels, as well as attended to critical and routine medical needs. 8vo, cloth & boards. PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers. Some foxing to top page edges, else near fine in a near fine dust jacket.

"Starting in 1950 shortly after they met, and up through the 1990s, Ronald Reagan wrote letters to his wife, Nancy. No matter what else was going on or where he was traveling to make movies or for General Electric, in the California governor's office, at the White House, on Air Force One, or sometimes even just across the room - Ronald Reagan wrote letters to Nancy Reagan, to express his love, thoughts, and feelings, and to stay in touch. This rare book offers unique insight into one of America's most famous couples and into the love story they lived. Through letters and reflections, the characters, personalities, and lives of an American president and his first lady are revealed. Over half a century, we see how Ronald Reagan wrote from the heart to the person he was closest to. Nancy Reagan comments on the letters, and writes with love and insight about her husband and the many phases of their life together. She describes how they met and fell in love and how their love grew over a long, eventful, and happy marriage, and she recalls the central role that letters, as well as cards and telegrams, played in their lives. The private life of this happy couple comes vividly alive in this special American story." - from the inner front jacket flap. Signed by Author(s).
