The original edition was published in 1751 by Dodsley a London publisher in two volumes. In 1835 the author's name was accidentally discovered as Peter Pultock. In 1842 the book was reprinted in one volume was made. From this the 1979 facsimile edition in slightly enlarged format was published.

Half-Leather. Condición: Good+. Fascinating Cornish Science Fiction Adventure about a Shipwrecked Sailor and Flying Creatures, written by Robert Paltock published in 1750. This 1816 Edition is illustrated with 4 Full-Page B&W Plates, having the Publisher's Name "T. and J. Allman" Printed at the bottom. 2 Plates are in Vol. I and 2 in Vol. II (including the Frontispieces). Each Volume has it's own Title Page, Dated 1816. Contemporary Brown Half-Leather Binding with Marbled paper-covered Boards and Leather Corners. Gilt Title and Horizontal Divisions. Vol, I, 240 Pages. Vol. II, 240 Pages + 2 Pages of Publisher's adverts. 6 1/2" Tall, 410g. Very small bits of leather missing from spine ends. Edge wear especially at corners. Split to leather down left side of spine and a smaller split (1 1/2" long) on right side from the bottom). Rear hinge cracked, board still holding at the top. Attractive Illustrated Bookplate on Endpaper. Previous owner's name, antique inscription, at top of title page. Some small spots of light foxing, mainly marginal, on Plates. Area of scuffing on title page (not on the test) with an area of light even browning on title page. Only a very occasional spot of foxing or fingermark on text pages which are in very good, clean condition. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.

Signature of Samuel Prince on title page which is dated 1844. Bound in contemporary full leather, c. 1840's. Rebacked with raised bands and gilt decorated compartments with original burgundy titling label re-used. Some rubbing and marking to covers, else very good copy. Rare 18th century edition of this interesting book. 189 p. Book.
