Octavo (20.5cm.); light blue publisher's cloth-backed boards in color pictorial dustwrapper; 161pp. Textblock toned and mildly soiled on edges; stain on title page and preceding blank leaf (recto). Ownership signature on half-title. Rear board has a couple dings, plus soiling along rear hinge. Spine has some material fading, rear crown abrasion. Dustwrapper soiled and worn; some tears w/ materal loss, especially along lower margins and crown of spine. Front inner panel price-clipped, with store sticker. Overall Very Good. Signed and dated by Harvé Stein, who illustrated many books for juvenile audiences. Kubie weaves a tale of how a young boy, with no prior interest in sailing, makes a wager that turns into a sailing race. Two-tone text-illustrations throughout.
