This updated version of The Nixon Presidency, like its predecessor, chronicles this administration in its entirety, including such high points as the opening to China, the low ones such as the conduct of the Vietnam war, and, finally, the traumatic Watergate scandal and the president's ensuing resignation. In this volume, however, the authors utilize the benefit of time elapsed to place the legacy of Richard M. Nixon in its proper historical perspective.

Deborah Hart Strober and Gerald Strober are the co-authors of nine books to date, including oral histories of the Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan presidencies; and oral biographies of Queen Elizabeth II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama; the evangelist Billy Graham: and Rudolph Giuliani. In compiling these works, the Strobers managed to penetrate the inner worlds of more than 500 leading personalities, including U.S. political figures and officials, foreign leaders, members of the British royal family, and religious personalities. In 2009, their book on Bernard L. Madoff, the first one to be published on that major financial scandal, was designated the Washington Post's Business Book of the Month for May 2009. Two years later, the Strobers collaborated with Herman Cain, at that time a candidate for the Republican Party's 2012 presidential nomination, on his New York Times best-selling autobiography This Is Herman Cain! The Strobers reside in New York City.
