Dinosaurs on My Street - Tapa blanda

Thirty different dinosaurs are plucked from their respective time periods to roam the streets mingling with people, pets, cars etc. The young narrator, a boy, tells the reader a few facts about each antediluvian. A chart appears at the end of the book, describing facts about each dinosaur such as length, height, weight, diet, time period it lived in and location found. The author did the illustrations using a computer. His artwork is clever as well as stunning. His design makes the dinosaurs come alive and pop out of the page, often in a humorous way. The illustrations are truly beautiful. Children will enjoy the illusion of dinosaurs mingling with the contemporary world!-- (04/01/2014)

Dinosaurs on My Street by David West uses amazing computer artwork to place dinosaurs in a modern city environment of buildings, cars, fire engines and construction sites. Dogs and people of all sizes and ages are in awe of the thirty species of dinos described in alphabetical order here. The dinosaur illustrations are accurate in relative size, shape and colour. A paragraph of large, simple text introduces the depicted dino, while a concluding table summarizes the statistics of size, weight, diet and when and where each lived.-- (11/16/2013)

According to the narrator of this inventive picture book, dinosaurs have suddenly appeared on the streets of his hometown... The computer-generated artwork is lively and fun, showing the animals engaged in various activities around the city. ... The contrast between the subtly detailed city tableaux and the intruding dinosaurs is amusing without being overdone.
