Picky Little Witch - Tapa dura

Mama Witch may have magical powers, but even she can't conjure up a stew to please her picky daughter. The Picky Little Witch turns her nose up at every delightfully icky ingredient her mama mentions, whether it's eye of newt or spit of bug.

But the Picky Little Witch isn't the only one reluctant to try new things. Mama Witch isn't so keen to sample the scrumptious treats her little witch gathers while trick-or-treating. Complete with a recipe for Halloween soup, this lighthearted story highlights an all-too-common problem: how can parents get their children to try new foods?

Because she grew up in her mother's indie bookstore, Elizabeth Brokamp was exposed to well-crafted language at a young age. Today the author is a licensed professional counselor in private practice. She earned her BA from the College of William and Mary and her MA and EdM from Teachers College, Columbia University. Brokamp lives with her husband and three children in Alexandria, Virginia.

Marsha Riti earned a BFA in studio art, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. She won the Portfolio Grand Prize at the Books, Boots, and Buckskin 2011 Austin Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Regional Conference. Riti enjoys gardening and cooking and lives in Austin, Texas.
