Críticas:
" - a thoughtful illustrated celebration of the artist's outstanding accomplishment. - In these images, and elsewhere in his work, Geoffrey James pinpoints with strong artistic force the fault-lines and fissures in the architectural history of our time." - Globe and Mail, Jul 24, 2008
Reseña del editor:
This is the first collection of photographs from James' photographic series from the past 20 years. The artist selected the sequence of plates, providing the reader with a walk-through of his major series to date. The selected images show James' breadth of subject - from Paris gardens, to the Roman countryside, to Canadian asbestos mines, to the Mexican/Californian border fence. James is an internationally renown Canadian artist. His work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Canadian Centre for Architecture. In 2002, he was awarded Roloff Beny Prize (for his book Paris) and the Gershon Iskowitz Prize (for lifetime achievement in visual arts). This book features stunning reproductions, and the 11 x 11 format does justice to large-scale panoramic images.
