Puerto Rico today is quite different from what it was in the 1920s and 1930s but its culture continues to have strong influences fron the old way of life. Aymee Canelas de Paddock helps to preserve that way of life through her memories of her childhood, a life when time was kept by the tolling of the church bell, and the whistle of the train.
