The fourteen winning stories from a competition for young writers, launched to celebrate the publication of Centuries of Stories. Written by teenagers between 13 – 16 and edited by Wendy Cooling.

A competition was launched with the publication of Centuries of Stories in September 1999 to find fresh young writing talent in the 11 to 16 age group. Fourteen winning titles were selected for this book by Wendy Cooling from over 600 entries. Written in a variety of genre; humour, horror, fantasy, romance, tragedy plus a sprinkling of magic and mystery, all aimed at the 11+ age-group.

Here are fifteen brand new, prize-winning stories. There's humour, tragedy and romance mixed with a sprinkling of mystery and magic. All the stories were written by young people, aged between eleven and sixteen, responding to a competition celebrating the launch of 'Centuries of Stories', a collection of twenty stories written by some of today's finest authors.'
